Destroyers: Pacific, radar picket duty off La Eyte, Philippines Islands

Roman Rokuizo was a favorite uncle. He was a genuine World War II hero who had survived flames, shark-infested waters, and Japanese bullets when his destroyer, the USS Reid, was attacked and sunk by Kamikazes in the Philippine Sea in 1944. He inspired my early art.
